Outside Counseling & Community Resources

Interested in accessing some additional support for your child? An outside counselor or therapist can be a tremendous support for your child and for you, as their caregiver! A wealth of knowledge and expertise, they can provide resources and support in a more in-depth way than we are able to provide at school. If you have accessed this support already, we would love to talk to your student's outside counselor or therapist to better support your child while they are in school! Please reach out to me anytime to chat more about this.

There are a few ways to begin your search for an outside counselor for your child. You can:

  • Contact Care Solace to be connected quickly and confidentially with available mental health providers matching you and your student's needs. You can call them at: 1 (888) 515-0595 or visit caresolace.com/bsd405.

  • Talk with your child's pediatrician and ask for some recommendations of providers that work with children.

  • Call your health insurance and ask what your coverage for mental health services are and for a list of providers that work with children and are a part of your network.

  • Reach out to one of the below community agencies that have worked with BSD students and families in the past:

Here are some additional resources to help aid you in your search:

  • Guide to Service Providers: includes a very helpful breakdown of which providers do what (i.e. what is the difference between a mental health counselor, a therapist, and a psychologist?)
